About Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum
Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum received recognition in 2007 from the World Economic Forum, who named him the year's Young Global Leader. The accolade followed several years of superior and highly visible accomplishments throughout the United Arab Emirates and worldwide. Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum became President of Al Fajer Properties the previous year and has since led the real estate development company through all stages of conception and building, including the creation of the Jumeirah Lake Towers mixed-use commercial project.
Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum demonstrated his leadership abilities through his role with Al Fajer Properties and applied this experience to his following position as Chairman of Al-Nasr Sports Club. Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum organized its financial and administrative aspects. Under his direction, Al-Nasr Sports Club became the first football team in the UAE to receive its own satellite cable channel and allow immigrants to participate competitively.
Prior to obtaining an executive position with Al-Nasr Sports Club, Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum founded auto racing series A1 Grand Prix. Regulations in this enterprise stand out from similar Formula One competitions, as drivers represent their home country instead of themselves. Additionally, A1 Grand Prix provides all cars used in the tournament to ensure equality in equipment, allowing the talent and training of each driver to determine scores. Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum demonstrated his innovation and work ethic through conceiving A1 Grand Prix, eventually selling his position to a private equity firm.
Before commencing his successful business career, Maktoum Hasher Al Maktoum received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and graduated with honors from Boston's Suffolk University.
